This visa enables skilled employees who have been nominated by an employer to reside and work permanently in Australia. Permanent residency permits for skilled employees are known as Employer Nomination Scheme (ENS) visas, sometimes known as subclass 186 visas. Both people living outside of Australia and those who are currently working and residing in Australia as temporary residents are eligible to apply. This visa enables skilled people to live and work continuously in Australia after being nominated by their employer. If you already work for or will soon work for an employer who is a party to a labour agreement, the Labour Agreement stream may be right for you. Although this is a permanent visa, the travel portion of the 186 visa expires five years after the date the visa was granted. After this point, candidates can apply for Australian Citizenship.
